Shrove Tuesday 2012 a very famous and known day in the religion of Christianity, this is the day also known as the Pancake Day. The day is the one before the Ash Wednesday. This day is celebrated in many countries especially the English speaking countries like United Kingdom, New Zealand, Germany, Ireland and United States. The day is always kept as Tuesday but the date is not fixed because the event is linked with Easter so it can vary. As this day is also known as Pancake Day 2012 so celebrated with the eating of the pancakes as they are made from the ingredients; sugar, fat, flour and eggs. The basic concept behind this is that the ingredients of the pan cake were banned as their consumption was prohibited during the ritual fasting associated with Lent. This is when the people were not allowed as restrictions were imposed on them on the usage of meat, dairy and eggs. These rich foodstuffs were far from use before the fasting season of the 40 days of Lent. So pancakes are made, distributed and eaten so this day is popular in Catholics, ethnic British communities and Anglicans.

In many areas especially in Newfoundland and Labrador several celebrations are made in which small tokens and coins are frequently cooked in the pancakes. Children take pleasure in discovering new and attractive objects, which are considered to be divinatory. Several festivals are organized in respect of the celebration of this special day. In England as the constituent of the community celebration many towns and states holds traditional Shrove Tuesday football games also known as Mob Football. This was highly appreciated by the audience and was followed from back 12th century but then died in the 18th century when the playing of football on public highways were banned through the Highway Act 1835. In England in past the Shrove Tuesday 2012 was known as half-holiday as it used to get started from 11 a.m when the bell from the church used to be ranged. On Pancake days several pancake races are also organized as the part of the celebration. This tradition of pancake races is started from when a lady when cooking the pancake got late and heard the bell of the church. She hurried on the road and start running while taking her frying pan with her. So tis became a custom as the people run on the roads carrying their frying pans with them and tossing the pancakes up into the air and catching them back into the origin. So the Pancake cake 2012 Tuesday is celebrated with great enthusiasm and religious honor in the religion of Christianity.
